Skincare alert! Korean brand Innisfree offers three kits for oily, combination and dry skin types respectively. Being a combination skin type, I went ahead with the ‘Balancing Skin’ kit. The best part about the entire green tea line is hands down it’s fragrance (it’s a spa in itself!). After having an average experience with the green tea seed serum, I didn’t have high hopes for this line in terms of performance, but to my surprise, this kit gave some rather interesting results.
The balancing skin kit is made strictly for combination skin types and includes three products :
Green Tea Balancing Toner
A very lightweight toner/serum that I prefer wearing during the day time, after cleansing my face. It absorbs quickly, makes my skin feel hydrated and controls excess oil production around my t-zone (a problem I’ve been trying to deal with for the longest time). It’s a great option for people with combination skin, it adds glow to your face but doesn’t look oily, and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. This is definitely my favourite product from the kit!
Green Tea Balancing Lotion
Another lightweight product that comes in the form of a lotion, which you’re supposed to apply after the toner. I haven’t used this product a lot, and honestly don’t see the point in it because they already have a cream in their line, which I really love. However, this product is very refreshing on the skin! I personally avoid wearing moisturiser when I have a serum on, hence it’s either the moisturiser or the serum for me. Both products used one after the other might be a little heavy for our skin type.
Green Tea Balancing Cream
A night cream (I like to think of it as one, it’s actually a regular cream) that has the potential of being a product that I would swear by, for winter skincare! I don’t know what it claims, but it works pretty well on my complicated skin. The cream is slightly heavy in comparison to the other products in the kit, which is why I make sure to use it at night (so my skin soaks it up all, overnight). I haven’t noticed any breakouts or oiliness, it is just the right amount of moisture my skin needs. I wouldn’t however recommend this cream for day time wear, as it can feel a little heavy.
I personally wouldn’t buy the lotion, but I do recommend their toner and cream for all of you who have a combination and sensitive skin type. Make sure to pick up samples before buying the products!
