What good is a birthday that doesn’t give you flaunt worthy presents! So I turned 23 recently and my friends and family made sure they made me feel like I was that five year old girl wearing mum’s lipstick all over her face, they got me makeup! A few of them were on my list since forever, and I was so excited to get them as birthday presents!
Since I’ve used these products for about a week now, I can safely review them. Having super sensitive skin, I’m always a little apprehensive about makeup in general (be it any brand), because my skin tends to break out a lot. So, I made sure I gave these products at least a week of regular use to test how my skin is reacting/adjusting to it. It turns out that my skin did just fine and I haven’t had any new breakouts since I’ve been using these products. So let’s get started!
Quickly over-viewing the products :
- MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in the shade 44.5
Now this product I had been eyeing on for quite some time but they never had my shade! I finally got the correct shade that blends so well with my skin tone and gives me perfect coverage. Being a powder (mattifies my oily skin) plus foundation (gives me coverage), it essentially does all my work! It’s a perfect product for summer and I really feel that it’s going to be a product that I’ll be swearing by, soon!
- MAC Powder Blush in the shade Coppertone
I was in desperate need of a good matte blush on and this one just sorted all my issues. I’m not a huge fan of pink blush-ons as I feel they don’t really suit my skin tone. On the other hand, Coppertone is something that would go with every skin tone. It’s such a gorgeous brownish-peachy shade, perfect for my everyday as well as occasions. Also, it looks so natural and the matte texture makes it look so great!
- MAC Matte Lipstick in the shade Mehr
There has been so much hype about this shade that I just had to try it. At first, I wasn’t quite sure about how it looked on me, as I am slightly on the dusky side and this shade sort of stood out on my face. But oh well, the shade grew on me and how! I guess that’s where MAC gets brownie points over all other brands. Mehr is a matte nude pink shade with a blue undertone.
- MAC Matte Lipstick in the shade Taupe
Taupe was something I needed for my everyday. It’s a go to, brownish nude shade that also goes with almost every skin tone. Although this shade is something that I would have found in a local brand, but I purposely got it from MAC because their lipsticks are so long lasting and so matte but they never dry out your lips. I put it on in the morning, and I’m good to go for the whole day (that is if I don’t hog on burgers!). Also, it’s a lovely shade for people of medium to dusky tones like myself!
- MAC Eye-liner Kajal in the shade Graphblack
I cannot function without Kajal. Sometimes people tell me I look sick and that’s just when I don’t have Kajal on! And I had been wanting to try MAC’s kajal. So I’ve been using this product for about a week and it’s that regular go to product for a girl. Honestly, the only thing one looks for in a Kajal is how less it spreads, because all of them tend to spread to some extent. The Technakohl liner is something that wouldn’t spread until you wash your face. Of course, a tiny bit is allowed, but as a whole it’s a great Kajal, for doing a smokey eye too!
My haul doesn’t end here. This post was essentially for my MAC products. I will be posting detailed reviews of each of these products very soon! Also, I am yet to share with you my most favourite birthday present, so stay tuned my loves, and have an amazing day!
